The Joys of Being an Adult

It seems like when I was a kid, I couldn't wait to grow up and become an adult. Little did I know all the 'fun' that comes with adulthood. You know...car repairs, house repairs, bills, bills and more bills. Fun stuff, right?! Here is the fun that I have been having in my adulthood this past week - the truck broke down (thank heavens for warm weather so Nathan can ride the motorcycle and leave me the car) and my dryer decided to give up the ghost. I never really realized how often I used my dryer until it's not there for me to use. So, here my laundry sits...piling up by the second. Thought - do we really go through this much laundry or does it reproduce when it hits the hamper?

Handsome Fellas

Here are my two main men...dressed in their suits and looking good! Just thought I would show them off!!

Gone Fishin'

Last week, we took the kids out to Whistlestop Park for their first fishing experience. Paul and Julie gave Ben a spiderman fishing pole as a gift for being in their wedding. For the past week and a half, he has been practicing fishing in the family room and the back yard. We decided it was time to take him down to the pond and try the real thing.

After a quick trip to Meijer (as quick as a trip can be with a three year old and two year old) for worms, hooks and bobbers, we were off. Oh, I failed to mention that while at Meijer, Joselyn sniffed out a princess fishing pole that she just couldn't live another minute without...both kids now have their own fishing poles. LOL

Once we got the bait loaded on the hooks, it didn't take long for the fish to start biting. The kids had fun catching fish after fish.

Another Year Bites the Dust

July 14 - Another year older today. It boggles my mind to think that in two short years I will be turning the big 3-0.

I must say, I had a nice day today. My big mushy romantic of a husband took me out to Holland State Park for a picnic dinner on the beach. He bought me a gift card from Old Navy so that I could get some new clothes to show off my ever growing preggo belly - he took me shopping (and didn't rush me or complain). After our shopping adventure, he bought me a hot fudge sundae (with nuts of course) from DQ! YUM-O!

I had a great birthday. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

A Day At The Zoo

My mom and I took the kids to Binder Park Zoo yesterday. The kids had a great time running around, checking out all the animals, riding the carousel, eating popcorn and having a picnic lunch. It was a long day - a lot of walking (especially for a pregnant woman), but all well worth it. Among the favorite sites of the day, the baby snow leopard. He was just a month old. Joselyn got a kick out of watching the nursery workers feed the baby leopard a bottle. He was really cute if I must say so myself. Overall, great day, very tiring and we all slept good last night!
