Joselyn-ism

Joselyn and I are engaging in normal every day conversation when she busts out with...

Joselyn: "Mom, do you remember when we went to Florida?"

Me: "Sure do."

Joselyn: "That was fun. I liked Minnie's house."

Me: "It was a fun vacation."

Joselyn: "Can we go do Disney World today?"

Me: "Not today sweetie. It's a long way to Florida."

Joselyn: "Okay, well how about Tuesday?"

Time Flies When You're Havin' Fun

I am 32 weeks into my pregnancy - and counting. It's hard to believe that I am due in just less than 8 weeks. Where has the time gone? I guess time flies when you're chasing a 3 year old and 2 year old every day. It just hit me this week that I should probably try to locate my baby blanket, onsies, pjs, receiving blankets, burp clothes, infant car seat, etc. So, after a couple of long days digging through box after box, I think I am ready for this baby to come (for the most part anyway).

Ben-ism

Nathan was helping Benjamin brush his teeth before bed one night -

Nathan: Wow Ben! Look at those big boy teeth (speaking of his molars that are popping through).

Ben: Yup, they're coming.

Nathan: Where did you get those big boy teeth?

Ben: From Target (without missing a beat).

Wow - 9 Years

September 11, 1999 - The day that Nathan and I were married. It's hard to believe that it was nine years ago already. I am thankful to God every day that he has given Nathan to me. He is a wonderful husband and father and I couldn't have asked for a better life partner. Happy Anniversary Nathan! Here's to many more happy healthy years together! I love you!

Golfing With The 'Big Boys'

On Saturday, Nathan took Benny out golfing with the 'big boys'...his right of passage into manhood (well, sort of - as man as you can be at two anyway). He was so excited to finally get to go golfing with Daddy and his golf boys. That's all he talked about all day - going golfing again.

Mom, Let's Make An Apple Pie

Joselyn decided she wanted to make an apple pie a couple of weeks ago while we were eating dinner. "Mom, let's make an apple pie." Um, okay sure. So I went through my cook books and found a good recipe for apple pie. I ran up to the store to pick up the ingredients that I didn't have lying around my kitchen.

We got everything laid out and ready to go and by golly, we made an apple pie.

The Fair - Part 2

For all of you waiting anxiously for my fair photos and stories (basically just you Allison :), today's your lucky day.

We had a great time with the kids at the Hudsonville Fair a few weeks ago. The kids loved checking out all the animals. The exception being the pigs - Joselyn wasn't so fond of the stinky piggies. It was quite comical to see her walking through the barn as fast as she could pinching her nose closed so she didn't have to smell that horrible odor.

Ben's favorite part of the fair was the tractors. He found his future John Deere. I couldn't get the kid off the tractor. I think he would have stayed all day if I would have let him. His second favorite was watching the cows get a bath. There was one particular cow who was making a lot of noise while he was getting hosed down. Ben was just giggling...he thought that was the funniest thing. It was too cute.

We had a fun time. It was a long day. We all slept well that night! :)
